Villeroy&Boch Tiles
Timeless elegance rooted in tradition and nature
With a history of more than 275 years, the Villeroy & Boch tile brand reflects the cultural diversity and historical richness of different societies and eras. Their European-influenced design principles provide the ideal basis for contemporary furnishing concepts while having a profound influence on how people feel and behave in spaces.
Villeroy & Boch Fliesen GmbH is a leading supplier of high-quality wall and floor tiles based in Merzig, Germany. As part of the international Eczacibasi Group, the company serves more than 65 countries and offers a wide range of creative options for private, commercial and public spaces with thoughtful color and format concepts of earthenware, porcelain stoneware and fine porcelain stoneware.
With today’s interior design in mind, the three lifestyles “Classic,” “Country” and “Metropolitan” were derived for the Villeroy & Boch Tiles brand and formed the design basis for the development of new tile series, creatively conceived at the brand’s place of origin in Saarland, sustainably produced in Europe based on German quality standards.
Thinking and acting responsibly for future generations
Developing sustainable materials and designs, sparing use of natural resources and using environmentally friendly production methods, V&B Fliesen GmbH has focused on sustainability for many years and is aware of its responsibility to future generations. Currently, all divisions and processes are aligned with the new growth strategy of the European Green Deal, which sets important sustainability goals. These include achieving net greenhouse gas emissions to zero by 2050 and ending dependence on fossil fuels. For climate protection, a central building block toward a sustainable future is the continuous improvement of energy efficiency: through investments in state-of-the-art facilities, special energy efficiency projects, process optimizations and digitalization measures, it has improved by 8 percent over the past two years.
To further reduce the ecological footprint, the products have also been adapted: with the adjustment of the wall tile thickness to 7 mm, less ceramic mass is used. This saves valuable resources and reduces CO2 emissions during production and transport. For sustainable construction, Villeroy & Boch’s tiles are certified with the international EDP label (Environmental Product Declaration) and thus meet all the criteria for sustainable construction. The globally recognized certification allows architects and designers to use Villeroy & Boch tiles in all buildings classified according to BREEAM, LEED, DGNB or other similar international declarations.
